Darren Henry is the Conservative MP for Broxtowe, having first been elected to Parliament in 2019 with a majority of 5,331.
The Broxtowe constituency is found within the county of Nottinghamshire and covers Beeston, Stapleford and the surrounding area. It is as largely suburban seat to the west of the city of Nottingham.  The seat is normally a close fought marginal, but Henry won comfortably in 2019, despite facing a challenge from the former Conservative MP, Anna Soubry, who was standing for Change UK.
Darren Henry was appointed an Assistant whip in September 2022 under Liz Truss. He was not reappointed to the government when Rishi Suank became prime minister in October 2022.
Born in 1968, Darren Henry served in the Royal Air Force for 26 years from 1987 to 2013, rising to the rank of Squadron Leader. After leaving the RAF he studied at the University of Lincoln, and worked as a hospital programme manager with Carillion.
Henry is the first Conservative parliamentarian of West Indian heritage. He has been critical of the partisan approach taken by the Labour Party to the Windrush scandal.
He is married with two children. In 2021, his wife, Caroline Henry, was elected as the Conservative Police and Crime Commissioners for Nottinghamshire.
Henry was elected to Wiltshire County Council in 2017.
Henry is a rugby referee.
Henry is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on the Armed Forces Covenant, Premature and Sick Babies, and the East Midlands. He is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Midlands Engine.
