Sarah Dines is‌ ‌the‌ Conservative ‌MP‌ ‌for Derbyshire Dales‌,‌ ‌having‌ ‌first‌ ‌been‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ ‌Parliament‌ ‌in‌ 2019, with‌ ‌a‌ ‌majority‌ ‌of‌ 17,381 over‌ ‌the‌ ‌Labour Party.‌

The Derbyshire Dales constituency ‌is‌ ‌found‌ ‌on the west hand side of Derbyshire ‌and‌ ‌covers Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and the surrounding rural area‌ spreading into the Peak District.  The largest geographical seat in Derbyshire, this constituency has long remained a safe Conservative seat.

Born in 1965, Sarah ‌Dines was‌ ‌educated‌ ‌at‌ Brunel university and became a barrister specialising in family law,‌ before‌ ‌being‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ Parliament.

Sarah Dines was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Home Office in October 2022.

Sarah Dines was PPS to Boris Johnson until February 2022.  She was then a Junior Government Whip February-July 2022, Junior Justice and Home Office Minister July-September,  Lord Commissioner of the Treasury under Liz Truss September-October..

Dines has 4 grown up sons and supported Leave in the 2016 Brexit referendum.‌ ‌ She is a member of the European Research Group of Conservative MPs and previously called for ‘Big Ben’ to chime on the day of Brexit.

In her maiden speech in the Commons she described herself as a “working-class, council [house]-reared, comprehensive school-educated Conservative”.
