Robert Courts is‌ ‌the‌ Conservative ‌MP‌ ‌for‌ Witney‌,‌ ‌having‌ ‌first‌ ‌been‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ ‌Parliament‌ ‌in a by -election in 2016 following the resignation of David Cameron. Robert ‌Courts was‌ ‌elected‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌2019‌ ‌General‌ ‌Election‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌majority‌ ‌of‌ 15,177 over the Liberal Democrats.

The Witney constituency‌ is‌ ‌found‌ ‌within‌ ‌the‌ ‌county‌ ‌of‌ Oxfordshire and‌ covers the towns of Witney, Chipping Norton, and Carterton and the surrounding area‌ in the Cotswolds. Blenheim Palace, the ancestral home of Winston Churchill is found within this constituency.  This is a safe Conservative seat which as well as being represented by David Cameron, was also represented at Parliament by the former Conservative Foreign Secretary and Home Secretary, Douglas Hurd.

Robert Courts was appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Aviation and Maritime in 2020.

Born in 1978, Robert Courts read law at the University of Sheffield. He worked as a self-employed barrister for 12 years, specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence.

He previously served as a councillor on West Oxfordshire Council between 2014 and 2017.

Courts is considered to be on the free market right of the Conservative Party.  He supported Brexit in the 2016 EU referendum, and backed Boris Johnson for the Conservative Party leadership in 2019.

Courts is married with two children. He is an accomplished blues guitarist and enjoys cycling, and swimming.
