Wiggin, Bill

Bill Wiggin was first elected to Parliament as the Conservative MP for Leominster in 2001, becoming the MP for North Herefordshire in 2010, and being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 24,856.

The constituency of North Herefordshire contains the northern half of the county of Herefordshire.  A rural seat it contains the towns of Bromyard, Kington, Ledbury and Leominster.   This area has long been a safe Conservative seat.  Nearly three fifths of the local electorate backed Brexit in the 2016 referendum.

Wiggin has never served in the government but was briefly the Shadow Secretary of State for Wales between 2003 and 2005.

Born in 1966, Wiggin attended Eton at the same time as former Prime Minister, David Cameron.  Wiggin’s late father, Jerry Wiggin, was himself once a Conservative MP.

Prior to being elected MP for Leominster in 2001, Bill Wiggin had worked for Commerzbank as a manager in the Foreign Exchange department.

He also served as an Officer in the Territorial Army with the Royal Welch Fusiliers and the Royal Yeomanry.

Wiggin is a member of the European Research Group of Conservative MPs and was a supporter of Leave in the 2016 EU referendum.

Bill Wiggin is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Zoos and Aquariums; Cider; and Listed Properties.

According to the Register of Members Interests Wiggin is Managing Director of Emerging Asset Management Ltd, and a director of two fund platforms in the Caymans, and two in Bermuda.  He is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Cayman Islands.

Wiggin is married with three children.  He is a farmer and keeps chickens and Hereford cows.

His interests include motorbikes, DIY, diving, shooting, fishing, and farming.  Bill Wiggin is President of the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors.
