The week in Westminster: December 6th – 10th

The tuition fees vote on Thursday is set to provide the big climax for this week in parliament.

Without any legislation under which a vote would be held, leader of the Commons Sir George Young has simply inserted a motion pushing through the changes at the end of the parliamentary week.

The Lords have a number of cuts-related topics to debate, including housing benefit, the pupil premium and economic growth.

And on the committee corridor it’s the Treasury committee’s hearings on the autumn statement which are likely to generate the most headlines.
