Tories attack Lib Dems as ‘soft on crime’

Turning their fire on the Liberal Democrats rather than Labour, the Conservatives have launched a new election poster claiming the Lib Dems are soft on crime.

It claims that a vote for the Lib Dems would be a vote for a party that wants to abolish mandatory life sentences.

Conservative co-chairman Liam Fox, said: “On May the fifth, people who have been let down by Labour may be tempted to vote Liberal Democrat.

“But if those people are concerned about crime being out of control, about our immigration system being in chaos and about their taxes being too high, that would be the wrong thing to do.”
