UKIP to field 500 candidates

UKIP has announced that it is preparing to field 500 candidates in the general election.

Through contesting the majority of the UK’s seats, party leader Roger Knapman said that he hoped the party would make its first breakthrough into Westminster.

Mr Knapman said: “UKIP came first in 21 constituencies in the Euro elections last year. Our message is straightforward and we are confident that our vote will hold up in many of these. People recognise that it is time for a change, and that the old, established parties with their tired ideas are a part of the problem, not a part of the solution.

“Our message is straightforward. We want our country back and for Britain to be governed by the British people. Only UKIP can make that happen.”
