Terror Camp in Ireland

Local police have found what appears to be a terrorist training camp in the Republic of Ireland.

Authorities are questioning ten men over the camp and believe them to be connected to the dissident terrorist groups, the ‘Continuity IRA’.

The camp is in isolated woodlands on the borders of Waterford and Tipperary in the south of the country and appears to hold equipment for use in terrorism and evidence of training in the form of spent rounds and targets.

Those arrested are being detained under laws that permit the police to hold terror suspects for three days without charge, but will then have to be released if no charges are filed.

Investigations into the use of the site are ongoing and the Irish police will continue with their wider operations along the border of Waterford and Tipperary.

The Conservative Party Spokesman on Northern Ireland, Lord Glentoran, commended the Irish police for the find and accused the Government of taking risks with security by dismantling watchtowers.
