Three die in M25 accident

Three women have been killed after the car they were travelling in broke down whilst driving in the outside lane of the M25.

According to a police spokeswoman there were four women travelling in the car at the time of the breakdown. It is believed that three of the women got out of the car and were standing in one of the lanes when the accident took place.

She confirmed: ‘The circumstances appear to be that a silver Peugeot 206 stopped in Lane 4 of the carriageway. Three of the four female occupants of the car got out.’

‘They were then struck by a white Mercedes panel-van which was then in collision with an MG sports car which was on the hard-shoulder.’

Two of the women were believed to be pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the third victim was taken to Epsom hospital where she died from her injuries.

The fourth woman who remained in the car was treated for minor injuries.
