Three Palestinian police dead after Israeli forces open fire

Israeli soldiers have killed three Palestinian policemen in the Gaza strip, according to AP reports.

Soldiers attacked a Palestinian refugee camp. There are reports that 30 people were injured.

The assault comes after 13 Israelis were hurt following Palestinian incursions.

Eye witnesses claim Israeli soldiers fired on a Palestinian police post near the Jewish settlement of Netzarim in central Gaza.

Palestinians insist the action was unprovoked.

There has been a further Israeli attack at the Khan Younis refugee camp in southern Gaza.

An Israeli helicopter is reported to have fired a missile at a crowd of people.

US Secretary of State Colin Powell has called on Israeli and Palestinians to embrace the ‘road map’ for peace in the Middle East.

Palestinians were urged to ‘move quickly and decisively’ against terror groups. The Israeli government was called upon to ‘immediately improve the daily lives of Palestinians, to restore hope and to show respect for the dignity of the Palestinian people.’
