Cameron: Councils ‘no right’ to stop street parties

David Cameron has made it clear that the government will not put any barriers in the way to stop people from celebrating the Royal Wedding:
“I think it’s also going to be a special day for everyone in this country who wants to have that once in a generation chance for us to come together to frankly have the mother of all parties.
“Now already there are 4,000 street parties planned across the country. Samantha and I will be holding one in Downing Street and bringing together local people and charities.
“But tragically communities up and down the country are having their plans, in some cases, wrecked by council red tape.
“These pen-pushers and busy-bodies are completely wrong. They have no right to stop you from having fun.
“And let me put it like this, I’m the prime minister and I’m telling you: If you want to have a street party you go ahead and have one.”
