Rayner urges government to comment on Johnson-Lebedev meeting

During cabinet questions, deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner asked for details on the meeting between prime minister Boris Johnson and former KGB agent Alexander Lebedev while the PM was foreign secretary.

Chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster Kit Malthouse told the House of Commons that he had forwarded the question to Number 10 and that he would respond in “due course”.

Rayner told Malthouse that she hoped ‘due course is very quick as this is an issue of national security”.
