Dorries accused of not listening to evidence on Channel 4 sale

During Digital, Culture, Media and Sport questions, the sale of Channel 4 featured heavily, with criticism of the sale coming from both sides of the House of Commons.

Shadow secretary Lucy Powell accused the secretary of state Nadine Dorries of not listening to evidence and having a “vendetta” against Channel 4 news coverage.

Minister Julia Lopez rebuked these claims, telling the House that these decisions are what is “best for the business, the taxpayer and UK audiences”.
