Labour calls for nationalisation of public transport

In the transport debate, Shaodw minister Sam Tarry called for rail and bus networks to be “put in public hands” in a bid to improve services.

Transport minister Andrew Stephenson commenced the debate, telling the House of Commons that government plans will help transport help the UK “rise to new challenges such as rebuilding our economy”.

Stephenson focused on the long term investments that the government has made, such as HS2, telling the House that high speed rail in the UK is  “long overdue”.
