Jack Lopresti was first elected as Conservative MP for Filton & Bradley Stoke in 2010, being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 5,646.
The Avon constituency of Filton and Bradley Stoke is a suburban seat found immediately to the north of the city of Bristol and contains the communities of Filton, Stoke Gifford, Winterbourne, Almondsbury, and the new town of Bradley Stoke. This is a relatively new constituency whose boundaries were created in 2010. It has been held by the Conservatives since 2010 but only by relatively small majorities, and it is a seat that Labour would be expecting to win if it was to win the next General Election.
Jack Lopresti was born in1969. On leaving school, he worked in his family ice cream and catering business locally for over ten years. He later worked in the financial services and residential property sectors, as a consultant.
Lopresti previously served in the 266 Battery, Royal Artillery (Gloucester Volunteer Artillery) as a gunner. Jack served with the 29 Commando for a year which culminated in a 5 months tour in Afghanistan.
Lopresti represented the Stockwood Ward on Bristol City Council from 1999 to 2007.
He is now married to fellow Conservative MP, Andrea Jenkyns and they have a young son. Lopresti also has three grown up children. He has previously spoken in Parliament about his battles in overcoming bowel cancer.
Lopresti was a supporter of Brexit, and backed Boris Johnson in the 2019 Conservative Party leadership election.
