Celebrity watch: Kilroy ‘a real villain’

Robert Kilroy Silk appears to be making a bad impression with his fellow jungle celebrities, with ex-Star Trek actor George Takei describing him as “a real villain”.

The 66-year-old MEP’s behaviour during the latest bushtucker trial on I’m A Celebrity. Get Me Out of Here! drew criticism as he lost, in embarrassing fashion, to former Albert Square denizen Joe Swash.

Kilroy Silk claimed victory after he had unlocked five of the six padlocks needed for victory in the test.

Ant and Dec saw through his apparent confusion, however, telling him he had got his keys mixed up after Kilroy Silk claimed he had got a “dodgy key”.

“You know he’s a politician, he nearly talked himself into victory,” Swash said afterwards, prompting the raised eyebrows from Takei.

“That’s the thing with Kilroy,” Swash said later.

“You don’t know whether he’s joking or whether he’s serious. I think he’s going to be an awkward fella, an awkward character.”

Unfortunately for those separated from Kilroy Silk the two camps merged later in the day because of a flooding risk.

Page 3 model Nicola McLean was utterly irritated by Kilroy Silk, who showed his deep commitment to all things European by calling her Nicole to her annoyance.

“I’ve now lived with you for four days. My name is Nicola. Not Nic, not Nicky, not Nicole. Nicola,” she said.

“I’m so sorry,” he replied.
