Conservatives gain Lib Dem council seat in Surrey by-election
The Conservatives won a slim victory over the Lib Dems in a Surrey council by-election on Thursday.
In a by-election held in the Frimley Green ward of Surrey Heath Borough Council, the Conservative candidate Stuart Black came first with 896 votes.
Liberal Democrat Jacques Olmo followed in second place with 877 votes.
The Labour candidate Christine Eleanor Richards came third with 76 votes.
This result squares with a YouGov poll released yesterday showing the Conservatives on a 10 point lead against Labour.
A big thank you to the residents of #FrimleyGreen for turning out to vote yesterday. 19 votes decided the election with the result favouring the Conservative candidate.
