Shooting and conservation have been praised at a packed rural reception hosted by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the Angling Trust at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester.
The Rockland Wildfowlers’ Association has been given £3,000 by the Wildlife Habitat Charitable Trust (WHCT), a charity set up to help secure land for shooting and conservation.
Wildfowling on part of the Somerset coast has been secured for 15 years with help from the UK's largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC).
As the shooting season begins, the Countryside Alliance shows that without government subsidy or intervention, the shooting community is already achieving the conservation goals set out in the recent natural environment white paper.
