Biography:

Pat Glass was elected as Labour MP for North-west Durham on May 7th 2015 with 20074 votes, taking 46.9% of the vote.

Pat was born in Esh Winning on 14 February 1957. She has lived most of her life in County Durham and has been a resident of Lanchester with her husband Bob for the last 22 years.

Pat’s working life has been based in Education. She has worked in senior positions in Local Education Authorities across the country.

Before being elected as MP, Pat was an Adviser to the Government of Education and works with Councils across the Yorkshire and Humber region to improve their education service.

Pat was elected to Parliament at the General Election in May 2010 suceeding Hilary Armstrong. She made her maiden speech to the Commons on the 16th June 2010.

Pat is a member of the Education Select Commitee. She is a member of the GMB union.
