Starmer makes amusing absence jibe at Johnson

Following prime minister Boris Johnson’s statement on international summits, Labour leader Keir Starmer made an amusing jibe at the PM.

Starmer welcomed Johnson “back to these shores” after his week of international affairs.

The Labour leader then said “they say absence makes the heart grow fonder. So I wish him the best of luck in seeing if that works as a party management strategy”. A remark that received a laugh from both ides, including from Johnson himself.
