MPs united behind support for lifeboat services

On Tuesday 10 January, MPs held a debate on the contribution of lifeboat services to search and rescue operations.

The debate was put forward by Kevin Foster, the Conservative MP for Torbay.

Contributing to the debate, shadow minister for aviation and maritime Mike Kane said: “I would say to every RNLI volunteer, every lifeboat volunteer, whether they be a fundraiser, a coxswain or a helm … I would like to thank them for their service and their contribution to search and rescue”.
