Jenkin calls for National Grid accountability

In a Westminster Hall speech, Sir Bernard Jenkin demanded answers on “who is accountable” for decisions on National Grid projects.

This comes after a proposed project impacting Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex received a negative response from constituents, with Jenkin telling MPs “I never never received so many emails”.

The Conservative MP also disclosed that he had lost his mother less than 24 hours ahead of the debate, but that he was “absolutely certain” she would have wanted him to be involved.
