Government will ‘sustainably’ lower interest rates, insists minister on mini-budget mortgage fallout
During Treasury questions today, Labour MP Gerald Jones asked the minister to apologise for the impact of the “mini-budget” on mortgage rates.
Mr Jones said: “Will the minister join the former Prime Minister and apologise to the nation for the impact of the party opposite’s misguided economic experience?”
Economic secretary to the Treasury Andrew Griffith responded: “As I said previously, this Government will do what it can sustainably to lower interest rates”.
