Cystic Fibrosis Trust response to the Spring Budget

David Ramsden said, “It will be a relief for many that the energy bills price cap will not increase this Spring, however, for people with cystic fibrosis the cost of living crisis comes on top of the cost of the condition itself, which means thousands of pounds each year to pay for essentials and lost income. It’s disappointing that the Chancellor has not used the opportunity of the budget to provide proper support to people with long-term conditions like CF. Removing VAT on energy bills, scrapping hospital car park fees, increasing Statutory Sick Pay and ending prescription charges for everyone with CF in England would help people afford the basics they need to stay well.”
