‘I want to be honest, this is difficult’ says Liz Truss

In a press conference following the change to the cabinet seen earlier today, Liz Truss justified her decisions but admitted “this is difficult”.

She said that she was “sad” to lose Kwasi Kwarteng as he is a “dear friend”, but assured that Jeremy Hunt would do a good job as Chancellor.

The prime minister also said she will reverse her plan to scrap an increase in corporation tax and admitted that the mini budget had gone “further and faster” than many had expected.

Her confidence seemed unwavered, and she assured that she would deliver her plans for the economy and remain in post.
