Nine peers have been cleared by the House of Lords regarding their expenses claims.

The investigation into the peers began after accusations they misused expenses by rarely using their main home and instead using the £174 a night allowance.

Lords authorities decided the peers had visited enough to qualify for the allowance.

But Lord Clarke, who Metropolitan police said there was insufficient evidence to convict of expenses offences on Friday, will be investigated by the House of Lords authorities.
