An embarrassing security slip by Britain’s most senior counter-terrorism police officer has sparked the premature arrest of 12 terrorism suspects.

It is understoood that the men wre arrested prematurely because of the incident.

Assistant commissioner Bob Quick allowed vital details on a document marked ‘top secret’ to be seen by cameras as he exited a car outside Number 10 Downing Street.

He has already stated he “deeply regretted” the slip.

The 12 suspects have now been arrested at addresses across the north-west.
