The UK and France are at loggerheads over an escalating humanitarian crisis, after the deaths of 27 people trying to cross the Channel into England.

France cancelled Priti Patel’s invitation to discuss solutions to the developing situation in a meeting with European officials on Sunday after France president Emmanuel Macron took issue with Boris Johnson’s public letter, calling on France to take back migrants from the UK.
