Zahawi and Phillipson clash on National Tutoring Programme

During education questions, shadow secretary Bridget Phillipson asked education secretary Nadhim Zahawi when he will “get a grip” on the National Tutoring Programme, which aims to help children catch up on their distrusted education following coronavirus.

Zahawi highlighted that “a million blocks of tutoring” had been achieved already and told the House that he hope that the shadow secretary would “welcome” this news.

Phillipson described the response as “staggering”, alleging that the government have been “complacent” in delivering this.
