Work and Pensions questions: Andy McDonald

During work and pensions questions, Labour’s Andy McDonald asked the government how they can “look people in the eye” given that it has “inflicted yet another real term cut”.

The MP for Middlesbrough expressed his concern at pensions and benefits recipients “not able to pay for the most basic essentials”. 

Under-secretary Guy Opperman reminded the House of the government support schemes available including “£5 billion worth of pension credit” to apply for.
