Theresa May reacts to Queen’s Speech, saying mental health patients ‘deserve better’

Former prime minister Theresa May reacted to the Queen’s speech with a mix of support and disappointment.

May welcomed the “social housing bill”, which will help those in social housing be more easily heard by authorities, learning from the Grenfell Tower disaster.

The former prime minister offered advice regarding negotiations on Northern Ireland with the EU, reminding the House of the issue of “sensitivity” surrounding Northern Irish communities. May then expressed her disappointment at the government not taking action on mental health, saying that patients “deserve better”.
