Tensions boil over during levelling up debate

MPs are debating the legislation for levelling up on Wednesday afternoon and tensions boiled over.

Shadow secretary Lisa Nandy accused Bob Seely and the prime minister of “corruption”, which was rejected by Seely, who explained that he had asked the PM to “rectify the wrong” of the Isle of Wight not receiving funding that other UK islands do.

Deputy chair Eleanor Laing ordered Nandy to withdraw the allegation, which she did did. However. The Labour frontbencher rephrased her accusation as “awfully dodgy”.
