Seely urges incoming government to strengthen the funding of smaller hospitals

In his first Westminster Hall speech of the new parliament, Conservative MP Bob Seely urged the incoming government to look again at the funding of unavoidably small hospitals in the UK.

Seely told MPs of problems and pressures faced by smaller hospitals such as his Isle of Wight constituency’s St Marys.

Former chancellor Rishi Sunak, who once might have made a decision on such funding, was present at the debate following his defeat to Liz Truss in the race to become the new prime minister.
