Scottish utility companies praised for response to Storm Otto

MPs have praised the response of utility companies to Storm Otto, which left thousands of people in northern Scotland out of power on Friday night.

Comparing the situation to that created by Storm Arwen, Conservative MP David Duguid said: “I certainly have a lot quieter inbox this particular Monday. I think it was Friday Arwen hit last time as well and it was by the time Monday came around and people were still without power. That was when people started really getting a bit grumpy”.
