Scottish minister calls for increased cost of living support
Scottish National MSP Kate Forbes, who also serves as Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Economy, has argued that cost of living support needs to be ramped up “over the next few months increase considering the challenges that families are facing.”
She said that current plans were based on the amount of funding allocated to Scotland when UK inflation sat at 3.2 per cent last October.
Inflation soared to 9.1 per cent in the UK across May, hitting a new four-decade high.
