Reform MPs ‘absent’ for commons statement on Ukraine, Labour’s Stella Creasy notes

Labour’s Stella Creasy appeared to refer to the “absence” of Reform MPs as the House of Commons heard and responded to a statement from the foreign secretary on Ukraine.

David Lammy appeared before MPs on Monday afternoon to mark the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine, and provide an update ahead of his and the prime minister’s visit to Washington DC later this week.

Responding to the foreign secretary’s statement, Creasy said that the UK’s Ukrainian allies will be “heartened” by the support shown from across the commons chamber.

However, she noted that some MPs were “absent from the House at this point in time”.

Another Labour MP can be heard saying: “Where are they?”

No Reform MPs were present in the chamber at the time of Creasy’s comment, despite Richard Tice, the party’s deputy leader, and Lee Anderson, its chief whip, having answered questions of Home Office ministers on Monday morning.
