Philp confirms gambling white paper is ‘very imminent’

Chris Philp, the minister responsible for gambling, says the white paper on reforming the 2005 Gambling Act is “very, very imminent”.

During this morning’s oral questions to the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Labour MP Clive Efford said it was “essential” the 2005 Act was updated to deal with the rise of online gambling.

Philp acknowledged online gambling poses “a number of serious risks”.
