McMahon accuses government of no plan to address food poverty

During DEFRA questions, the main frontbench exchange focused on the government’s support of those facing food poverty in a cost of living crisis.

Shadow secretary Jim McMahon told MPs that “the government just hasn’t got a plan to address the out of control inflation keeping people skint and hungry”.

Under-Secretary Victoria Prentice rejected this claim, telling the House of Commons that her department “very much have a plan to continue to help people”, telling McMahon to “dial down the political tone”.
