Lewis: Good Friday Agreement a ‘priority’ in revised NI protocol

During Northern Ireland questions, shadow secretary Peter Kyle asked, “based on the government’s track record”, why anyone should believe claims that the new NI protocol bill is legal.

Northern Ireland secretary Brandon Lewis mocked Kyle for his “habit of taking the side of the EU over the UK”.

Lewis told MPs that the new protocol, which is “within the law”, will “deliver for the people of Northern Ireland and the priority” that is the Northern Ireland Good Friday Agreement.
