Debbonaire vents frustration at cabinet ‘audacity’ over ‘slap-up meal’

During questions to the leader of the House of Commons, Mark Spencer, shadow leader of the House Thangam Debbonaire vented her frustration at the “audacity” of the cabinet.

Debbonaire referenced the Conservative summer ball on Monday night, where the top price was a “£120,000 slap up meal for four, including the prime minister, his predecessor and her predecessor”.

The shadow leader highlighted the “audacity” of Conservative MPs “telling food bank users that they don’t know how to spend their money”.
