Carolyn Harris calls for gambling levy in the face of 55,000 child addicts

In a Westminster Hall speech, Labour’s Carolyn Harris called on the government to not “take half measures” when it comes to tackling the associated problems of gambling.

Harris shared with MPs the scale of the issue, with “55,000 children between 11 and 16 who are gambling addicts”.

The MP for Swansea East called for a levy to ensure gambling companies can help fund research and education into tackling the issues with gambling addiction.
