The Conservatives have won their number two target in Wales.

The Tory candidate Alun Cairns in the Vale of Glamorgan has won the Vale of Glamorgan seat from Labour with a 6.1% swing, winning 20,341 votes.

The 4,000 majority over the Labour candidate Alana Davies is less that the 7,000 votes polled by third place Eluned Parrot for the Liberal Democrats.

This is the first seat the Conservatives have taken in Wales.
