Speaking in the House of Commons in February, president of COP26 Alok Sharma said: “We want to ensure that the green thread of climate action runs through every international event on the road to COP26.”
The international climate change conference, also known as COP26, is due to take place in Glasgow in November this year.
Several environmental groups have warned that the conference may be our last chance to keep temperatures below the 1.5C rise since pre-industrial times recommended by climate scientists.
