The south ‘at risk of levelling down’

The south of England is at risk of levelling down after the coronavirus pandemic.

A report by the Centre for Cities warned that places like Crawley, which depended on industries such as aviation before the pandemic, will be hit if these industries fail to come back as strongly.

It says there might be a reduction in regional inequality but that would be due to the south’s economy deteriorating.
