Penny Mordaunt: ‘Others’ must leave MPs alone as House considers privileges committee report

MPs must do what “we think is right” and others must “leave us alone” to consider the privileges committee report, Penny Mordaunt has said.

Speaking after delivering the business statement today, which outlined that the privileges committee report which concluded Boris Johnson misled the House on partygate would be debated by MPs on Monday, Ms Mordaunt said: “We have to look at the evidence. We have to look at the report. But we are talking about people who are friends and colleagues. It will be a painful process and a sad process for all of us”.
