Brine takes aim at BBC for bias through Lycett and Lineker
Conservative MP Steve Brine has suggested BBC bias as he questioned the broadcaster’s director general Tim Davie.
Brine suggested that some may view the booking of Joe Lycett who did a “mock applause” of Lis Truss as she finished her interview on Laura Kuenssberg’s new Sunday moring show. The MP for Winchester then shared his discontent for Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker’s tweets that were critical of the government.
Davie told MPs in the digital and culture select committee that he though the Lycett moment did not “display BBC bias in the slightest” and that while conversations with Lineker continues he is “very supportive” of the former footballer.
