Angela Rayner accuses government of protecting a ‘corrupt standards regime’ over Raab allegations

During cabinet office questions today, deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner asked the minister Oliver Dowden about the investigation into Dominic Raab’s conduct.

Ms Rayner said: “The reality is the Minister is protecting a corrupt standards regime upheld by the Conservatives for the last 13 years with the prime minister as Judge and jury”.

Mr Dowden replied: “The prime minister’s ethics adviser is independent. It will be a matter for him to decide whether he wishes to take further action in consultation with the Prime Minister”.
