Youngest Conservative MP opens up about losing mother to alcohol addiction
Sara Britcliffe, the Conservative MP for Hyndburn, has opened up about losing her mother to alcohol addition.
Ms Britcliffe was elected in the 2019 General Election with a majority of 2,951 over the Labour Party., becoming the first Conservative to represent the seat since 1992.
This month we have had Alcohol Awareness week and 17 years ago today I lost my mum through her addiction. She sadly didn’t win this battle but it is vital that we keep working on this and raising awareness so others do. It doesn’t just affect individuals, it destroys families. pic.twitter.com/FLNYutsBfq
