Standards committee considers proposals on banning MPs accused of serious offences from the parliamentary estate

The standards committee sits both this morning and this afternoon to consider proposals for banning MPs accused of serious offences from the parliamentary estate. Among those giving evidence later are the Conservative and Labour backbench chairs, Graham Brady and John Cryer.

At 10.00 am, ITV political editor Robert Peston will be championing his Speakers for Schools initiative at an education committee session on careers advice in school.

At 2.30 pm, food minister Mark Spencer is up at the environment committee’s inquiry on food security.
