SNP MP blasts boundary review as ‘a dog’s breakfast’
Pete Wishart, SNP MP for Perth and North Perthshire has hit out at preliminary plans to review Scotland’s electoral boundaries.
He wrote via Twitter this morning that:
Not only are the Tories cutting 2 seats from Scotland the boundary commission are inflicting constituencies on Perthshire that can only be described as a dogs breakfast designed by a someone who has never visited Perthshire before…. https://t.co/XRv3s7hP1l

He also told The Courier: ““It’s as if these constituencies were designed by someone who knows absolutely nothing about the area. There’s going to have to be a bit of work to make them feel like the communities they should be.”
An eight-week public consultation will kick off today on the preliminary plans that could see 2 seats removed, while constituency boundaries would shift and be renamed across the country to meet legal requirements.
